After one and half years gap director cum actor Sudhakar Bannanje is back with ‘Ranakanaka’. The last film he directed was ‘Naanu Hemanth Avalu Sevanthi’. Like how he introduced new talent for his previous film, he has done a similar approach but with an audition of over 1000 aspirants.


The failure in love and the lover misses from the life is referred as ‘Ranakanaka’. Bannanje has written screenplay and dialogue besides direction. Diwakar investing on the film has also written four songs.

Shashiraj from Mandya and Tumkur based Divya Gowda is Sambrama from this film are in lead roles for the first time. Shobaraj, Honnavalli Krishna, Tennis Krishna, a few of theatre actors are part of the cast.

Rajesh Ramanath is working on music for the songs. Rajesh Ramanath has picked the local singers like Anuradha Bhat, Ajay Wariar, Hemanth and actor Srimurali for singing. Nagaraj Advani is cameraman. Tamma Lakshman is art director.


The shooting for Ranakanaka starts from Timmappa hills at Ramanagara. It moves to Baindur, Sakaleshpura, Udupi, Kanakapura and finish shoot in May this year.
